- It rained and rained continuously for 40 days and Noa stayed in the boat all through patiently. These 40 days transformed the life of Noa.
- There was a powerful thunder and lightning storm and a dense cloud covering Mount Sinai. Moses was there on the mountain for 40 days face to face with God which transformed his life tremendously.
- Prophet Elijah as he slept under a broom tree, an angel of the Lord woke him saying, “ Elijah, get up and eat for there is a long journey ahead of you. So he got up and ate and drank and the food gave him enough strength to travel forty days and forty nights. This transformed his life.
- The city of Nineveh which was doomed to destruction for its evil deeds was completely transformed when God gave the people forty days to change.
- Jesus was empowered by 40 days of fast in the wilderness.
- Disciples of Jesus who were bewildered after their master was crucified,got wonderfully transformed by 40 days with Jesus after his resurrection.
It seems, whenever God wanted to prepare someone for his purpose, he took 40 days. May the 40 days of ‘Lent’ 2020 which begins from 26th Feb. Bring transforming experience for each one of us.
